Tier 1 (Elite) - Highly experienced player. Played travel hockey beyond 14U. Top two line high school player. College club and up. (IAHL D+, C and B leagues)
Tier 2 (Advanced) - Can hang at D level in league play. Very experienced adult learner. May have played house hockey through 16U/18U, travel hockey up to 14U, or limited high school. (IAHL D-/D, RIC D leagues)
Tier 3 (Intermediate) - More experienced adult learner. Seasoned player whose competitiveness has plateaued. May have played house youth hockey up to 14U. No travel hockey. (IAHL Novice+, RIC NHL).
Tier 4 (Novice) - Adult learner with limited experience. Lower skilled player. Looking to skate primarily for fun and to improve skills. (IAHL Novice, RIC Zamboni)
